I tested Inworldz virtual world for curiosity but had problems with my avatar appereance that remained as a cloud whatever I did. It would be great to have Inworldz support in Firestorm too.

Hi Timo,

We dont officially support other grids at this time, but your cloud issue is most likely just the usual bake fail.
Give this a try & let me know if it works: Firstly make sure your inventory is fully fetched. Trying to force your avatar to load before its fully loaded can make the situation worse. If you are still a cloud, make a new folder in your inventory. In this folder place a skin, shape, bald hairbase & eyes (non prim). Then right click this folder & replace outfit. You must replace, or it wont work.
This should then go on as normal & allow you to rez. You can then get dressed normally.

InWorldz appears to avoid having anything to do with the V2 clothing system. Firestorm refuses to allow me to add skins, shapes, the bald head, anything but attachments. Ruth only. I can not 'copy + paste' the shortcut links into a new folder. I can not invoke 'replace' as described above. I can not edit anything.

On leaving my 'naked, blind hairy Ruth' with Firestorm, I log back in on Imprudence and see shins, shape and eyes I had before.

I'm reasonably certain this is an "InWorldz Hates V2 Inventory Links" issue and not a problem with Firestorm, as such. If someone could link me to the InWorldz bug report or some statement such as, "We have no interest in supporting V2 style clothing links ever on InWorldz," I'd be happy to direct my effort towards the appropriate area where the bug lies.

If a 'toggle-V2 outfit links' button is possible, that would be fantastic to allow Firestorm work on grids that do not yet support it.

Thank you.

InWorldz is on a old OpenSim release. If I remember correctly it is v0.6x where the newer release is to 0.7x. In addition, there is also no physics engine on the simulator as of 06-02-2012.
The server version was given to me by another source. I did not verify this.
The Physics issue was verified.

Any of the above issues with this simulator is due to the design and upkeep of such simulator not due to the viewers.

Just a short update...

Spoke with a programmer from InWorldz. The above issues are being looked into.
I have logged into InWorldz with Firestorm and my avatar has properly rezzed.
If you try to log in to the grid as of July 2nd 2012, you will not be able to log in with Firestorm since they are working on the issues.

Are there any news about this bug? For some reason, the default grids in FS login screen, don't include Inworldz. Is that intentional?

Timo, I just checked, and in 4.2.2, our current release, Inworldz is included.

I attached a screenshot of the login screen of the latest Firestorm viewer. Can you find Inworldz there?

Oh very strange!

Heres what I have on 4.2.2...

If you go to Preferences -> OpenSim do you see Inworldz avaailable in the grid list there?

If not, it either got accidently removed from your grid list or you have some skin files corruption.
You can either manually add the grid back in the grid manager or try uninstalling Firestorm (to make sure old skin files are removed) and reinstalling or if all else fails, do a clean install as instructed on this page: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_clean_reinstall

InWorldz does not show on mine either and have reinstalled (clean reinstall) a couple times to fix this. I run Firestorm 4.2.2.29837 on Mac so not sure if this makes any difference or if it's an InWorldz thing. Would love to have my Firestorm there as I am ready to kill the one I have.

Heya Heidi,

You can add Inworldz back to your 4.2.2 build.
Go to Preferences -> Opensim and add the Inworldz details there.

I need to check whats going on with Inworldz. Its missing for a lot of people and it does look like it was deliberately removed in this commit http://hg.phoenixviewer.com/phoenix-firestorm-lgpl/rev/d3bbf9cbf39e though strangely, it is still showing for a lot of people too. I think the grids list may also pull from the server at viewer launch. I will ask about this.

As far as I know it was removed because of compatibility issues that are not yet resolved.

Are you able to add Inworldz to the grid list yourself & login successfully Heidi?

We are working with the Inworldz development team to resolve the incompatibilities with Inworldz grid and the Firestorm for OpenSimulator viewer. If you would like to help test, sign up for the Inworldz beta grid through them where the work is being done.

While we aren't waiting on Linden Lab to fix the issue, I have gone as far as I can to resolve these issues in the viewer. Thus, we are now waiting for Inworldz to fix the issues on their end as the issues now are with their internal systems.
