The last LL Server update included a change in how LSL manages the typing state of an avatar. Before people had to have the typing animation on for LSL to get the message that your avatar is typing. Now, it will get the message if you have the default animation on or off.
This is a boon for AOs that have their own custom typing overrider since now it can be triggered without that "tick-tick-tick" in the background. I've already updated my own with a more conversational animation and far quieter and more soothing sounds for both when I start and end typing.
Odds are, your AO has a custom typing animation included and the new LSL change has caused it to activate. Find in your AO a "disable typing" button/menu. You should be back to normal after that.
NOTE: If your AO does not have an option for turning off typing, or disabling it does not correct the problem, check if your AO has put out an update since 1.42 rollout. If not, you can try the following:
1. Remove your AO. Rezz it to the ground (unless your AO has different directions for
add/remove anims.
2. Physically remove your typing animations from your AO and any direction to it from the
NC in your AO.
3. Reset the scripts.
4. Take back into your inventory.
5. Go to Advanced, Debug, Playtypinganim, and set to TRUE, then back to FALSE.
6. Relog.
7. Reattach AO.
I was able to uncheck the 'play typing animations when chatting' in the text-chat tab of preferences dialog and verified that my AV does not play the typing animations.. however, she does do the silly head bobble. :-s Thank god for AO's
