[BUG-41294] [MAINT-7080] [64bit only] World view tinted blue when ALM is disabled after update to Nvidia driver 378.49

    Details

    • Type: Bug
    • Status: Closed
    • Priority: Critical
    • Resolution: Fixed
    • Affects Version/s: Phoenix Firestorm 4.7.9, Phoenix Firestorm 5.0.1, Phoenix Firestorm 5.0.2
    • Fix Version/s: Phoenix Firestorm 5.0.1
    • Component/s: Rendering
    • Labels:
    • Environment:
    • SL Avatar Name:
      Whirly Fizzle
    • Reported In:
      Firestorm 5.0.2

      Description

      • Update to the latest Nvidia 378.49 driver.
      • Disable ALM and login.

      Observed
The world view is tinted blue.
      See attached images.

      • When ALM is disabled, disabling Glow fixes the problem, apart from the Linden water has a brown tinge in the distance.
      • Bug does not reproduce when ALM is enabled (and Glow is enabled).
      • When ALM is disabled & bug repros, disabling Bump mapping & shiny then re-enabling Bump mapping & shiny fixes the problem until ALM is toggled again.
      • When ALM is disabled & Bump mapping & shiny has been disabled then enabled (so the bug is "fixed"), disabling Bump mapping & shiny will then reproduce the bug again.
      • Multiple reports of this problem already in FSE.
      • Bug does not reproduce on FS 32bit - Firestorm 5.0.1 (52150) Dec 10 2016 12:21:33 (Firestorm-Release) with Havok support
      • Bug does not reproduce on LL viewer 32bit: Second Life 5.0.0.321958 (Second Life Release)
      • Other affected users have also confirmed they cannot reproduce this bug on 32bit viewer versions.
      • Bug does reproduce on LL 64bit viewer: Second Life Project Alex Ivy 5.1.0.501863 (64bit)

          I have the same problem.
It's not just tinted blue ... red and blue channel have changed.
That means all red things become blue and all blue things red.
But only if ALM is inactive.

          My configuration:

The blue tint is happening if I turn off ALM, using a GeForce GTX 980/PCIe/SSE2.

By switching ALM on and off I noticed that apparently the antialiasing is also affected by the "blue tint" - I usually have it set to 8x antialiasing for daily use, but with ALM off it looks like antialiasing also got turned off.
I'm attaching a screenshot to show the difference. It shows the leg of my mesh body inside a mesh boot.

ok. I understand my graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 ... it appears in the affected card relation in that post, if I open the first session in firestorm ... but if I use another viewer together (singularity Alpha 64 bits) for the second session The two viewers work correctly ...
