Did you do a clean install when upgrading, as explained here:
          http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=fs_clean_reinstall

Once you perform a complete clean reinstall, please leave ALL settings on default. This also includes your bandwidth and draw distance while this issue is being looked into. It helps narrow down the cause of the issue you're facing.

Yes, I always do a clean install and I have tried it both ways with things on default and modified network bandwidth and disk cache.

          Correct.

My statement was I have left them on default and I have tried it with slight modifications both way's give the error. Maybe i should have been more clear instead of saying i've tried it both ways

Info from Zi: This crash happens when the number of the currently used texture unit exceeds the defined maximum, but no idea when that exactly happens and why yet.

Have the same error, only on log outs, but the comment about the textures made me currious.
I checked it, same region (well known Ranch), no preference changes, just I logged off at different locations (Draw Distance both on 48m)
          1. Situation: simple blank plattform at 3000m - no error
          2. Situation: Ground Level about 30+ avatars arround - error
          Its reproducable this way.

Well, its cause of the region I did this, there are 30 avatars minimum, most times 50, at evening hours 60 (might be more but region is limited to 60), and most are within a range of 50m, so when porting in texture loading is much faster, and as I spend most of my time there its my default draw distance.

I am having the same problem.

One way to isolate this issue is to look at when it first occurred, this seems like the first occurrence of the error, and if there are no previous occurrences on previous versions, one can isolate by finding out what the differences are between the code from the last released version to this one.

Further, it's being reported it happens on shutdown, so the best way to test is to conduct the operation at shutdown - and run debugger through a shutdown to see how the application is handling it per the error.

One can also run the previous version and see how a shutdown occurs that way and run debugger etc.

I know this is a simplified idea but you know when it occurs, what the error is (then searchable whether windows system or application error) and knowing it's a difference beween the last workable version and this one.

I can reproduce it, see post above.
Something I may add, beeing at ground level and porting to the plattform to log out, forces NO error.
(I did not mentioned the name of the region cause its highly adult)
Another point I checked since the prior post. Wearing mesh clothing, same situation. No error on plattform, error on ground level.
And think it is not system related, we have an Intel only system, an AMD Intel (the one from the LL jira) and an AMD only system (me)

I'm getting the same error code every time I try and save a snapshot to disk, high resolution. It never happened in the old Firestorm so now this viewer is almost useless to me.

          Hi,

I get this crash Everytime i log out, consistently.

I just tried the newest Linden Lab Viewer, 3.3.0 (251182) March 15th and it does not do it.

Oh, and FYI, this is a fresh OS install, Firestorm was the first viewer I installed, i only installed the Linden one to see if it crashes on logout.

Ill be IMing people from this JIRA who have this crash later today with a Firestorm build to test.

          • If you can consistently reproduce this crash, is it in general at a specific location? If so, please give the SLURL.
          • This test build will still crash, its not a fix per se, but it will crash with an llerror message as soon as it detects a matrix mode out of range so we can get more accurate information from your logs to get this fixed.
          • Those of you running the test build, when you crash, immediately zip up your entire logs folder & attach to this issue using More Actions -> Attach files.
Instructions on how to get your logs are on this page http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/file_a_jira under the "How to give us your logs" section.
          • Once we have this info, you can go back to using the release version of Firestorm if you wish.

I just crashed for the 4th time today in a row with no error at all; it is getting annoying really, mean if get an error okay; but all log shows; entering crash state. Noting there at all. Seems to happen a lot though on land that has a land surrounding the size like 4 sims over. De-rendenring it wont help as moment you turn around it there again.

          Heya De,

Im afraid not yet. This issue is being worked on & LL have just announced a fix for this crash but the fix isnt public yet, so we are waiting for them to make it available. Hopefully it will make it into the next release.

sighs Not really worth me adding much to this other than I installed FS to be able to continue my store on MP - otherwise I'd've stayed with just Phoenix. I actually do intend on staying, which is why I did NOT do a clean install. And am getting the same log off error. I haven't tried with snapshots or building. Frustrated enough as is. lol

I thought I would chime in one more user that is having this error so often in the last two or three days as to make it hard to stay in. Seems to pop up when moving an attached prim, but not only then. I'm hoping for a way to ameliorate the problem until the update comes out. Perhaps re-installing firestorm clean? I'll check back for comments. If it only crashed once a night that would be great.

Just adding my name to the list of those with this error. It is a brand new laptop so a clean install and it does it consistently when I log out, when I try to take a high rez snapshot etc. I would love an opportunity to try the test version as it makes it impossible to take snapshots for my shop atm and I love the viewer otherwise.

I have this same error message, at the moment only when logging out.
This happens on both machines, my PC & Laptop.
The laptop is brand new so def a very clean install, the PC I did initially do a clean install but I repeated the process & reloaded it just in case, nothing changed.
Here are the specs for the laptop, I dont have access to PC for a few days.

At least you all can log in. I cant even get my viewer to open. All i keep getting is the crash logging message and then an error saying Firestorm has stopped working. Windows is searching for a solution to the problem. It used to work perfectly fine until after i downloaded the new update.
