Experiencing this myself. It's driving me nutty.

It seems to be new to 12.04, the latest Long term Release of Ubuntu.
Bug occurs when you try to choose where to save the snapshot to.

Sequence of events is as follows
Take snapshot, (refreshing after changing resolution is fine), save or save as and the window freezes. The file browser window does not come up and the application remains frozen until the process is manually killed.

Tested on Firestorm, Phoenix and official Second Life viewer. Problem orignally occured on a system with the proprietary ATI FGLRX drivers, then tested on a fresh system with open source graphics drivers. The problem doesn't seem to be related to driver.

I get the same terminal output as Dahlia, though when the application is left frozen for a few minutes, it also gives this message

^C2012-04-28T11:22:40Z INFO: llcommon/llapp.cpp(451) : setQuitting: Setting app state to QUITTING

Otherwise, it seems to be an identical problem.

(do-not-directly-run-firestorm-bin:4536): GLib-CRITICAL **: PCRE library is compiled without UTF8 support

(do-not-directly-run-secondlife-bin:4909): GLib-CRITICAL **: PCRE library is compiled without UTF8 support

I've also tested this on a live USB of 12.04, same results

I can give the full terminal output if required.

Installing a different filebrowser and setting that to default did not help either.

Tested by installing Marlin, setting it to default and rebooting.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 here, 512mbs dedicated.

I really don't think it's a graphic card problem. My gut tells me it's something to do with the app trying to communicate with the file browser, but I'm no developer.

Strange. I seem to be fine with texture uploads. Though I haven't tested an actual upload, the file browser does appear.

Texture uploading works if I stay in the submenu "Recent File"; as soon as I use the browser, the viewer freezes.

Hey All, i am having the same issue, attached my firestorm.log.

Taking a snap shot is identical, i can upload images fine. However with bulk uploads i can upload one file at a time but if i attempt to select more than one file i get freeze with almost identical output.
