[SVC-8050] Animations partially mess up following region change - Crossing between BlueSteel sims and sims running different simulator versions causes loss of animation offsets

    Details

    • Reported In:
      Firestorm 4.1.1.28744 Release

      Description

The best way I can reproduce this is pulling my pony cart. At least 75% of the time when I cross regions, my sit position changes and the lower part of my body stops playing the walking animation. The only way to solve it is to go to Avatar Health, stop all animations, then force an animation change by changing the speed of the cart. Note that the upper part of my body is still moving with the walking animation in the after picture.

        Hiya Lori,

Does this happen when you are crossing between a Blue Steel region and a non Blue Steel region and did this just start on the last server rollout of the RC regions?

It sounds like you are seeing the Blue Steel bug filed at https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-8050

Can you confirm if this is the case?

I need to double check against the sims where I have been seeing this, but reading SVC-8050, it sounds like exactly what I am seeing.

        Great, thanks Lori.
That JIRA is acknowledged & we just have to wait for LL to fix it Im afraid.

One of the commenters on that LL JIRA has made a free HUD to wear to stop this happening until LL fix it. You can grab that here https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/SVC-8050-Workaround/3740410

I've just tested the workaround object and checked the server versions where I see this most consistently. My home sim is on the main release channel and the sim next door is indeed BlueSteel and the workaround object is effective in correcting the issue.

I don't see how to do it, but this report can be closed as a server bug.
